Goodbye Los Angeles

My initial plan once I began this move to Hawaii was to update this blog on a daily basis; you'd be able to read all of my hopes, dreams, anecdotes, tips and failings regularly; however, this has proved very difficult on our new home island of Kauai because of a few things:

1. We are camping in front of a giant mountain which blocks all wireless signals
2. When I make it to the library (about 45 minutes from the campsite) I only have one hour to type and upload pictures
3. It rained on my computer three days ago
4. My computer cord was missing for a day and a half so I could not charge it in order to upload pictures to my portable mini-drive to get the pictures to the library computer.
5. When I download the pictures from my camera to my computer, they are huge files and I need to resize them individually.
6. When we get to the internet, suddenly other miniscule things take precedence such as paying a bill, checking on our dwindling bank account, or ordering a meat grinder

Needless to say, I am trying and life is very different here from California but I'm getting used to it. The modus operandi of success on this island seems to be word-of-mouth over any newspaper or internet research; in fact, there are boards posted around many of the businesses that advertise rents, eats, items for sale, services offered, healings given.

And now magically, I only have 15 minutes left on this computer so I end this post now and attempt to get some pictures uploaded.

Loves and misses.
